In the span of January to June 2020, the total production output of anchovy in Indonesia has reached 85 KMT. This number has exceeded last year's production volume of 70 KMT. Looking at this current number, the Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs of Indonesia is confident that the national anchovy industry would be able to eclipse the entirety of the previous year's mark at 120 KMT. The production output is still primarily absorbed by domestic consumers with only around 30% being exported. The ministry is planning on increasing the export share in 2021.
