9 of top-10 highest price increases in April were recorded by the agricultural goods in Turkey

Turkish Statistical Institute announced that garlic was the product with the highest price increase in April with 46%, followed by onion and potato with 38 and 31% respectively. Additionally, kiwifruit prices increased by 30% whereas orange prices have increased by 27%.

Furthermore, the price of carrots went up by 20% and the price of apples has risen by 18%. The last 2 agricultural products among the top-10 highest price climbing products were lemon and egg with 17 and 15% increases respectively.

These price increases are mostly reported to be the effect of the increased demand due to the coronavirus outbreak.
