First Vietnamese exports of lychee to Japan delayed due to COVID-19

The first export of Vietnamese lychee to the Japanese market will not be possible at the moment. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 disease, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) announced that it would not be possible to send inspectors from Plant Protection Department to Vietnam to inspect and recognize the disinfection treatment system of fresh lychee in the country. Therefore, businesses may have to spend a considerable amount of money to preserve the product in the best condition when the situation is stable again
