During the MCO, prices for beef and chicken remained stable, but prices for vegetables rose. Vegetable prices rose last week when wholesalers were unable to ship goods regularly after the MCO was announced to contain the spread of the COVID -19 outbreak. Most vegetables in Malaysia are imported from Thailand, and some come from the highlands of Cameron in Malaysia. As a result, supplies were cut off because the border was closed and many suppliers were unable to bring in vegetables from the Cameron Highlands due to the unauthorized interstate shipment.
