Farmers to adopt good manufacturing for potato production in Nigeria

As planting season peaks, producers of potatoes are urged to use only certified seeds and good practices to ensure good production to ensure a great production season in 2020.
Kastina state experienced a tremendous drop in last season yield as a result of inadequate rainfalls while Plateau State which is the main production hub of Irish potato production in the Nigeria had a decrease in production, mainly due to late blight which attacks Irish Potato during rainy season.
Potato is one of the most important sources of income for local farmers.
