Arrival of imported onion in Indonesia helps check prices

Following the arrival of imported fresh onions from New Zealand, the price of this commodity at the traditional markets have been recorded to go down considerably compared to the past three weeks. Previously, the price of onion was recorded at the highest level of IDR 110.000/Kg, due to the decreasing supply in the national market. Currently, because of the additional stock, the price has been stable at the highest price of IDR 85.000/Kg, and the suppliers expect that the price of onion nationally will remain stable or at least would not go up to more than IDR 90.000/Kg in the month of Ramadhan.
