Iran has exported over 1.6 million tons of agricultural products and generated $890 million in revenue from these products during the first half of 2020. Export estimates show an increase of almost 20% in volumes however a decrease of 9% in terms of the value of revenues generated. The decrease in value is mainly due to the devalued local currency against the US dollar. The main export products were watermelons, pistachio, apple, potato and melons.
