To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Indian government has shut down the Tamu-Moreh border gates where it is a key route for border trades between Myanmar and India. These border gates are mainly used to export agro-commodities such as areca nuts, black gram beans, pigeon peas, chickpeas, and other foods. Exporters and bean processors of these products are closing down their operations until further notice of reopening of the gates.
