High cost of logistics slows pineapple export from Ghana

While Europe the major importer of Pineapple from Ghana is still trying to recover from the corona virus pandemic, the high cost of freight charges has also significantly caused a decline in the volume of pineapple exports.
Pineapple is available all year round in Ghana but the peak season for pineapple production is November through April.
In a move to tackle the negative growth rate of Ghana’s pineapple export, the Ghana export promotion council has delivered 11.3 million pineapple suckers to various exporters and out growers at Ekumfi in the Central Region.
