The demand for pasta has increased both in domestic and export markets due to the Covid19 outbreak as many consumers preferred food products with long shelf life. As a result, Turkey's pasta exports have increased by 19% and reached 301 million USD in the first 5 months of 2020.
Turkey's legume exports have also increased by 38% and reached 173 million USD. Red lentil was the top export product among legumes with an export volume of 96 million USD.
Iraq was the top export destination for these products with an export volume of 83 million USD, followed by Syria and Saudi Arabia with 45 and 24 million USD respectively.
