As an effort to diversify the market for Indonesian specialty coffee and single-origin coffee, coffee beans manufactures are currently working together with the Ministry of Trade to open new market destinations to the south American countries such as Bolivia and Peru. Single-origin coffee beans such as Aceh Gayo and Toraja Kalosi are popular in the International market because of its strong taste and aroma, but the Ministry of Trade believes that further diversification is needed to further boost exports. Although Bolivia and Peru import coffee beans from major exporters from Brazil and Colombia, local coffee beans manufacturers in Indonesia believe that they can still have a competitive advantage as long as they can provide high-quality products. The first export is expected to take place at the beginning of the third quarter of 2020.
