Following the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service's simplification of export trade procedures, the administrative costs of the registration procedure for exporting fresh and dry produce from Kenya to international markets have decreased by 62%, from USD 328.01 to USD 124.74. The simplified export procedures apply mainly to products such as coffee, tea, flowers, beans, peas, avocados, nuts, oil crop products, cotton, sisal, and all other export crops. The number of administrative steps has decreased from ten to five, the number of mandatory requirements has decreased from thirteen to just two, and the procedure is now reduced from fourteen to six days.
