The Boa Vista Chamber reported that seven suspected samples analyzed confirmed the presence of African Swine Fever antibodies. The cases were registered in pig farms located in the Industrial Zone of Sal-Rei. Local authorities are focused on implementing health measures to stem the spread of the disease. Activities such as the slaughter of pigs are totally prohibited without proper authorization, as well as the movement of pigs between locations on the island and to other islands, including derived products. The government still asks that the population do not consume pork of doubtful origin or without the proper health certificate.
