Wheat is mainly sourced from France in Algeria. As the French wheat harvest weakens, the country has decided to import Polish wheat. A ship loaded with 31,500 tonnes of Polish wheat recently left the port of Gdynia in Poland for Algiers, according to Reuters. This decision to import Polish wheat results in particular from the fall in French wheat production and the competitive prices Poland was offering for the same quantity and quality of wheat.
