The rise in fuel cost has been a major factor in the reduction of seafood supply and consequent price increases in Italy. The price of red prawns increased 51% YoY compared to September 2021 and are currently trading at USD 63,64/kg wholesale price. The price of pink prawns remains marginally stable, mostly due to regular imports from Argentina with a wholesale price around 14.69/kg, 12% higher than a year ago.
