Another Brazilian state certified as a zone free from classical swine fever

Paraná, located in the south of Brazil, is celebrating the advancement in international recognition as an area free from the foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination and the receipt of the technical seal from the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) as a zone free from classical swine fever. With this classification, the State guarantees health benefits to local producers in the international market. The pig herd in Paraná is over 6.8 million head, 17% of the national herd, and the state aims to make it the largest pork producer in the country in the coming years.
