Appetizers from Turkey were exported to 150 countries, bringing in foreign currency of USD 207 million in 2021

The product group, which includes hummus, şakşuka, red bean stew, fried eggplant, fava, roasted eggplant and pepper, is the most demanded appetizer group in the world with an amount of USD 56 million, while tapenade sauce obtained from a mixture of olives, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice and thyme is also included. USD 44 million of foreign currency from the sauce group was brought to Turkey. The sauce group, which includes appetizers such as Acuka, Ajvar and Bruschetta, which attracts the most attention among the appetizers, has recorded USD 38 million of exports.

It is predicted that appetizer exports will reach USD 500 million in the next 5 years.
Appetizers mainly exported to Germany, USA, Romania, England, Israel, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Ethiopia and United Arab Emirates.
