In 2022, Greece and Italy began to have frost in March, France, and Spain at beginning of April. With a forecast of nearly 515,000mt at the European level, the 2022 harvest is 31% above the very shortfall in 2021, but 8% below the 2016-2020 average. 2022 is the third consecutive year with a deficit at the European level for the apricot species. It seems increasingly complicated and risky to produce apricots in most European production areas, whether historical or more recent.
