The supply of cassava starch is quite compromised in the Southern Cone region due to the relevant drought of last year that impacted directly on production volume and quality. Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina are pretty short, and import from other regions such as South East Asia is not a current option because of freight shortage and high tariffs.
