Ideal weather conditions in southern parts of Australia are improving the quality and yields of onions for the new season. The crop yield is expected to increase by 2-3%. Due to the increased Covid-19 cases, domestic consumption will be reduced slightly. Meanwhile, export programs for onions are attractive despite the increased freight prices. Indicative prices for pre-season Medium Brown Onions (Premium) is USD 0.75 per kg FOB, and shipments will be starting at WK 4 2022.
