With the 2021/22 avocado production campaign at sight at the Sicilian fields, delays are expected by farmers due to the very low average temperatures during the spring time. Furthermore, the excruciating heat of 44~46°C temperature levels between July and August down in Sicily seems to have finally stabilized. However, even though trees look plentiful, the damage is likely to have been done, and yielding should be shorter than the previous year when 1,400 tonnes of oil were processed in the region.
