Increasing Spot Prices of Ecuadorian Bananas During W7

In W7, the spot price of Ecuadorian bananas increased WoW, from USD 10/13.5 kg box and USD 12.35/18.14 kg to USD 11.05/13.5 kg and USD 13.85/18.14 kg box, all FOB. The price increase is due to the reactivation of demand from the Mersin market, which is the main route used by Russian importers for bananas. After the earthquake in Turkey, activity in the Mersin port is returning to normal as it received slighter damages compared to other ports in the South of the country.
