After many weeks of relative stability, the pig price increased by EUR 0.19 per kg on 10 February, and it now stands at EUR 1.269 per kg. The purchasing positions of the slaughterers are still different, and the amplitude of these auctions remains high 4.3 cent. In the northern European countries, the renewal of quotations should be the order of the day, as in Germany, where the reference price has remained stable at EUR 1.20 per kg, as the market fundamentals are not changing.
In Spain, on the other hand, the positive trend continues with solid demand for pigs driving the market upwards. The Spanish price could recover up to 3 cents per live kilo. In the United States, the price continues to rise while it remains at its lowest in China.
