Beekeepers lost between 10% and 15% of their bees, leading to higher Mexican honey prices

The recent drought in the past six months in the central region of Mexico has caused beekeepers to feed their bees with sugar since there were few to no wildflowers which bees could feed upon their nectar and pollen. This has increased harvesting costs for beekeepers, from buying constant amounts of sugar whose price is also rising, and having some bees dying from insufficient nutrients. With this situation, beekeepers have lost between 10% and 15% of their bees due to the lack of rain in the region. All of these could make Mexican honey prices rise.
