West Australia has had their best crab season in 15 years after trialing a new pot that tripled the catch in kilos per pull.
It is an industry that has suffered disastrous blows including a marine heatwave in 2011, floodwaters that caused the stock to decimate, and a local industry shut down for three years.
However, not this 2020, as new injection mould crab pots have tripled the fishers' catch rate in kilos per pull.
