Bigger exports of avocados from Peru to Chile

Peru is sending 100FCL per weeks to Chile right now which will increase to 150 FCL per week in a couple of weeks. Right now in Chile, the retail price for avocado is around $7-8 per kg. When more volume enter Chile form Peru, the Chilean domestic prices will decrease and this will allow Chilean avocado suppliers to focus on exports.
For Chilean avocados, the domestic market demand sets the export prices. Avocado is one of the few products in Chile where domestic price is at par with export prices. Other products like apple, cherry, lemons, etc., the domestic price is far lower than export prices, so most of the volume is assigned for exports.
