As of September 2020, Bolivian exports of meat reached 8,000 tons, valued in US$ 41.9 million. The sector estimates reach sales of 13,000 tons by the end of 2020.
The Federation of Cattlemen of Santa Cruz (Fegasacruz) projected the export of 15,000 tons of beef for 2021, as long as the elected government continues to support that productive sector.
According the National Institute of Statistics (INE), exports of animal protein, between January and September 2020, registrated an increase of +217% in value than the same period of 2019, when $ 13.2 million was recorded.
The most important market for the Bolivian meat is China. Likewise, to date, Bolivia has been authorized to export the protein to Russia and to other countries such us Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
