After two years of cancellation due to Covid-19, the seafood show took place in Boston. According to the attendees including the buyers there are some takeaways to point out.

First of all, as there was a glut in the shrimp market, shrimp sellers will likely to increase effort to unload more shrimp in the market. It is expected that more promotion will be done in 3-6 months. Second, many key seafood processors are rejecting Russian raw material and cargo vessels. Many seafood items such as cod, haddock, pollock, are twice frozen and reprocessed in China, which is expected to cause shortage shortly.
Third, the government of Chile is putting in extra effort to push Chilean mussel and abalone. Chile expects market segments to grow in the next 4-5 years based on the competitive prices. Lastly, more and more seafood value added items are shown such as Salmon Burger, Salmon Hot Dog, etc.
