Brazil is the largest exporter of Halal products worldwide

According to a report issued by the Pew Research Center, the Muslim population worldwide is expected to reach 2.76 billion by 2050, representing 29.7% of the world population, jumping from the current 1.8 billion to 2.76 billion.
The Africa Islamic Economic Foundation, reported that the Halal food sector registered US$ 1.369 billion in 2018, and forecasted US$ 1.972 billion in 2024, setting an increase of 44%.
This sharp change opens an opportunity for Brazil to strengthen its leadership role in food security among islam communtities worldwide, where it is already a proeminent player in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, Algeria, Nigeria and Bangladesh, being the sugar the main agricultural product.
