Brazilian coffee generated BRL 34 billion in 2020

In 2020, Brazil produced 61.61 million 60 kg bags on an area across 1.8 million hectares. The Arabica variety accounted for 76.9% of the total production which is 38.1% more compared to 2019. The Conilou variety fell by 5.1% in comparison to 2019 and closed the year with 14.25 million bags produced. According to the Coffee Observatory, the Gross Production Value (GPV) of Brazilian Coffee, which corresponds to the total turnover of both Arabica and Conilon crops, reached BRL 34.04 billion in 2020. Conilou coffee with revenue of BRL 5.84 billion represented around 17% of the total revenue and arabica coffee with revenue of BRL 28.2 billion which is 83% of the total revenue.
