Due to a large stock of black beans and a self-supply policy in Brazil, purchases of Argentinian black beans fell by 90% on average during 2022, and in October fully stopped. Argentinian producers are storing black beans in silos and are looking to sell them to other countries like Colombia, Venezuela, and Cuba. Producers hope that de black bean demand from Brazil will improve in the remaining of the year and that purchases will reactivate in December.
