The pandemic brought changes in consumer behavior and new eating habits in the world. The impact can be clearly seen in the increase in exports and demand for honey - a natural food and indicated to improve respiratory conditions. In Brazil, about 60% of honey production is exported, and from 2019 to 2020, exports grew more than 50%, sending 45,626 tonnes abroad. The main buyer of Brazilian honey is the United States, accounting for about 75% of shipments, followed by Germany with 12% and Canada with 4%. Honey producers, although optimistic, still do not know whether this movement should remain in the post-pandemic.
