Bulgaria is set to initiate construction of a new port dedicated to grain exports, mainly wheat, with a storage capacity of 200K MT wheat or 100K MT of sunflower seeds on the Danube river. The daily shipping capacity is planned to be 5000 MT/day.
The construction is planned to start early next year with 20 silos with the idea to make it easier for suppliers from Silistra and Balchik regions to have alternatives in river shipping methods.
