California grapefruit production is forecasted to be similar to last year's crop by only decreasing by 2.4% YoY to 4M boxes in the 2021-2022 season despite droughts. However, the drought is affecting fruit sizes, and the wholesale prices are increasing due to rising production costs due to increased water pumping and surging labor and fertilizer costs.
