Cameroon is an interesting market for frozen fish suppliers

Despite its 4 million hectares of water surface and 400 km of coastal line, Cameroon remains an attractive market for frozen fish suppliers. The local consumption is estimated at more than 500,000 MT, whereas its national production still turns around 300,000MT. For the first 10 months of 2021, the country has imported 250,000MT of frozen fish worth around USD 400,000,000. Government and private initiatives to increase national production and reduce importations still have serious hindrances. Hence, the market is expected to remain attractive.
