India reimposes high tariff rate, affecting exports for Canadian lentils

Canadian lentil exporters have seen a slowdown in Indian demand as the country returned to their previous 33% tariff rate after temporarily lowering it to 11% since June. Effective September 1st, lentil imports from all countries to India will be taxed at the 33% rate except those from the US for which tariffs have reverted from 33% to 55%.
