The chia season begins with the sowing of the crop in mid-February, the crop has a cycle of approximately four months, so the harvest begins at the end of May and ends at the end of June. The largest volume available from the harvest is obtained in the first two weeks of July.
The capacity of each processing plant per day varies between 20 to 40 MT for the cleaning and finishing of the seed. So you may have the raw seed from the farm in mid-July, but July, August, and September are the months with the highest demand, and it is essential to work on schedules with advance contracts to ensure shipments.
At this time, suppliers are closing their contracts, and the priority of the first shipments (end of July and early August) is established in the order of the anticipated times of each contract.
