Chile and Peru Approve the use of the Electronic Sanitary Certificate

Chile and Peru approve the use of the Electronic Sanitary Certificate that will improve the time of the regular process for the import and export of plants and its products. This improvement will also reduce costs.
Both Peru and Chile will not longer issue the certificates in paper.

This new procedure takes place within the framework of the Alianza del Pacífico integrated by Mexico, Peru, Colombia and Chile which looks forward to facilitate the commerce between countries.

Is expected that the electronic certificate will improve the export process for the 7,000 shipments (about 96,000 mt) that goes from Peru to Chile every year.

Most important products exported from Peru to Chile are: Avocado, Watermelon, Olives and Mango.

Most important products exported from Chile to Peru are: Apples, Pears, Wood and Nectarines.
