Following the Lunar New Year celebrations, Chilean cherries are notably scarce in the market. Before the festivities, the market was flooded with a high supply of varying sizes, prices, and brands of Chilean cherries. However, by W9, their presence had drastically diminished. Wholesalers at the wholesale market reported only a few containers containing Chilean cherries in W9. While the quality of these cherries has declined, their selling price remains high due to the prevailing shortage in the market. In W9, the wholesale price for a 5kg box of JD cherries is trading between USD 64 to USD 65/box, reflecting the scarcity-driven demand.
