In 2023, China imported over 1,425,923 metric tons (mt) of fresh durian, amounting to approximately USD 6.72 billion. Thailand ranked first with an import volume of 928,976 mt, valued at around USD 4.57 billion, constituting 65.15% of China's total fresh durian imports, marking an 18.49% year-on-year (YoY) increase. Vietnam secured the second position with an import volume of 493,183 mt, valued at about USD 2.14 billion, accounting for 34.59% of China's total fresh durian imports, showing a significant 1,107% YoY increase. The Philippines ranked third with an import volume of 3,763 mt, valued at approximately USD 13 million, constituting 0.26% of China's total fresh durian import volume.
