China has instituted a ban on all frozen meat and fish imports after inspections on imports from Brazil and Ecuador have revealed traces of Covid19 on the packaging of the products.

The ramifications of this ban for the global frozen food remain to be seen. The global frozen food market is worth 220 billion USD and some scientists argue that the virus can remain alive in frozen products and that there may be a possibility for it to infect consumers.
