China's Sunflower Seed Prices Dropped as New Season Begins in W33

China's main sunflower seed production areas are Xinjiang, Gansu, and Inner Mongolia. The new season has started for Xinjiang and Gansu, and prices are lower than at the start of last season. With limited optimism for this year's export market, W33 prices are lower than last year's. For Type 361 jumbo seeds, the price is about USD 50 per metric ton (mt) less than in 2023, with smaller sizes dropping even more. Inner Mongolia's crop will be ready by early Oct-24, and prices should stabilize once the total harvest volume is clear.
