Resumption of Fresh Chinese Banana Imports on January 29, 2024 to Russia After Five-Years

Fresh Chinese bananas have resumed entry into Russia through the Zabaikalsk border crossing on January 29, 2024, following a five-year hiatus since 2019. Two shipments totaling over 40 tons were imported, marking a notable increase from the 350 kg recorded in 2018. The Zabaikalsky Krai authorities of Rosselkhoznadzor conducted mandatory quarantine checks, enabling the consignments to advance to temporary storage in Krasnoyarsk Krai.
