Colombia records good figures in the banana sector

Total Colombian banana exports during 2021 reached 1,970,313 MT, with the Caribbean region contributing the most to this figure with 864,464 MT and 44% of national production, this area also grew in production achieving a 14% increase compared to 2020. In relation to the markets to which the product is sent, the United States continues to be the country that receives most of the bananas from the Caribbean Region, growing by 33% in 2021 compared to 2020. There is also a growth of 60% in exports to Germany and 50% in banana exports to the Netherlands.
