Colombia's Banana Exports Declined in 2023 Despite Global Ranking

Although Colombia ranked as the 4th largest global banana exporter in 2023, its international sales performance for the Cavendish variety decreased by 17.3% year-on-year (YoY). In 2022, exports reached USD 969 million FOB, while in 2023, international sales amounted to USD 801 million FOB. The primary markets for Colombian bananas are the United States (US) and the European Union (EU).
