Consumer trends are shifting towards healthy products: superfoods.

The consumption of well-being, health and respect for the environment are big trend now a days. This is a great opportunity for Peru, a country well known for many superfoods such as quinoa, maca, berries, among others.

For example, quinoa has great opportunities in France and Belgium. Their imports of quinoa are equivalent to US $ 12 million and US $ 7 million, and Peru has only 17% and 42% share of value respectively. Regarding avocado, there is export potential to China, a market of US $ 76 million where we only have 26% share. Blueberries are another product that has great potential, mainly in China and Canada. Their imports are US $ 69 million and US $ 43 million, and Peru has only 34% and 36% share of value, respectively.

It is worth mentioning that during in 2019, 46.8% share of Peru´s superfood where exported to the American continent, followed by Europe (45.9%).
