A decrease in Consumption for Christmas season in Italy

A branch manager of a widely known retailer in the Lazio region confirmed that a downward trend is taking shape with regards to the consumption of products usually preferred in the Christmas season. The sales trend is lower than expected this season: traditional Italian sweet bread Pandoro and Panettone often play a role of an indicator of consumption trend for the Christmas season. This change is due to the constant price increase of gasoline and a steep increase in the price of flours in the last year.
