Control over black caviar will be strengthened in Russia

Federal Agency for Fishery of Russia announced that it will develop additional measures to control the turnover of black caviar and prepare appropriate amendments to the legislation.
The reason for this was the fact that the EAEU technical regulation "On the safety of fish and fish products" in force in Russia does not contain a direct requirement for manufacturers to indicate the origin of raw materials when repacking finished black caviar, which is actively used by unscrupulous players. The requirement for mandatory registration of broodstock herds in commercial aquaculture will make it possible to identify discrepancies between the size of the livestock and the amount of production
