Farm gate corn prices in the domestic market have risen by more than 120% YoY due to rising farm input costs and other operational costs. For instance, the cost of ploughing an acre of farmland by tractor service providers has increased by more than 100% from about USD 6.18/acre to nearly USD 13.74/acre in some farming communities, resulting in the farm gate price of a 100kg bag of corn also rising from USD 10.31 in 2021 to USD 24.05 in 2022.
