Current status of Polish poultry ban in UAE and Saudi Arabia

The Office of General Veterinary Inspectorate has provided recent updates on the export of Polish poultry products to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia concerning bird flu:

1. UAE: Imports of poultry products from Poland are banned in full since this March, and governments of Poland and of UAE are in talks about requirements and documentation needed to allow imports. It is currently a work in progress.

2. SA: Imports of Polish poultry products are permitted except poultry sourced from the following 4 provinces: Masovian, Lodz, Greater Poland, and Warmian-Masurian. In addition, SA bans imports of poultry products which 'were not treated thermally or in a way which assures the destruction of the HPAI virus,' in accordance with the EU.
